Rhodes Grove Camp Hospitality
March 31, 2016
1 Peter 4:8-10, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
It is our goal at Rhodes Grove Camp to consistently offer hospitality to one another, to use the gifts that we have received to serve others, to faithfully administer God’s grace to our campers, to our guests, to those who pray here, to those who worship here, to those who play here. As we prepare for the upcoming summer season we are eager to minister to the families that will be joining us for Family Camp and the campers that will be present for RGC youth camp. We will be teaching from John 13. Verse 34 reads, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” This new command sets up the observation in verse 35. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” I use the word observation because I believe it captures the essence of the verse well. If, and as, we as Christians love one another, others will be able to discern that we are Disciples of Christ. As we demonstrate the love of Christ in service to each other; hospitality to each other; in encouragement of each other; in instruction of each other; they will know that we are His. With the help of Rhodes Grove supporters and encouragers, the Rhodes Grove team is able to walk out this commandment and demonstrate this love for one another to all those who come to experience Rhodes Grove Camp. It is our constant prayer that RGC continues to offer Christ centered experiences that reveal God’s majesty.
